Configuration Backup

For those devices that have the capability to upload their configuration data via TFTP, netPrefect™ has an inbuilt TFTP server, allowing you to execute periodic commands on your managed devices that perform the upload of configuration.

This mechanism allows you to:

  • Upload configuration information on a schedule

  • Store multiple configuration backups

  • Purge backups that are:

    • older than a specified number of days

    • more than a specified number of generations

  • Mark specific uploaded configurations as "sticky", so they are never removed

  • Download a specific generation of backup to your device

  • Promote backups so that they can be used on other devices (useful when performing firmware upgrades to many similar devices)
