Serial Port

Use the built-in serial ports on your Site Network Management Appliance to manage your devices Out-Of-Band, via their consoles.

Connect to your device and execute shell commands on the device. Do this directly to the device, or via a network connected terminal server, to the serial port on the device.

Typical devices that you would use Serial Ports with include:

  • Bridges
  • Routers
  • Managed Switches
  • Embedded Operating Systems (Telephones, Kiosk systems etc.)
  • Terminal servers, that connect to legacy systems that support serial consoles, or even serial consoles on your network routers and switches
